| Abstract | As características sinóticas associadas com o Jatos em Baixos níveis são analizadas considerando a atividade convectiva sobre a bacia do Prata, durante o período de 1994 a 2002. Imagens de satélites são usadas para identificar à ocorrência de CCM e configurações tipo V. Os casos foram classificados em 3 grupos e as características médias de cada grupo são discutidas. O padrão geral mostram um escoamento em baixos níveis do Oceano Atlântico, retornando para sul, e a magnitude máxima sobre a Bolívia e norte do Paraguai quando há desenvolvimento de CMM; sobre sul da Bolívia e Paraguai extendendo-se para Uruguai e Rio Grande do Sul quando há o sistema com configuração do tipo V; e sobre sul da Bolívia e Paraguai quanto não há desenvolvimento de CCM. Baixa pressão desenvolve-se sobre centro e norte da Argentina, e é forte quando há desenvolvimento de atividade convectiva. Outra diferença observada é a ocorrência de outros jatos em altos níveis nos casos de sistema convectivo com configuração do tipo V. ABSTRACT: The synoptic features associated with the Low Level Jet (LLJ) are analysed considering the convective activity over the La Plata basin, during the period of 1994 to 2002. Satellite images are used to identify MCC occurrences and V type configurations. The cases were classified in 3 groups and the mean features of each group are discussed. The general pattern shows a low level flow from the Atlantic Ocean, turning southward, and maximum magnitudes over Bolivia and northern Paraguai when there is development of MCC; over southern Bolivia and Paraguai extending to Uruguai and Rio Grande do Sul when there is the V type convection system; and over southern Bolivia and Paraguai when there is not MCC development. Low pressure develops over central and northern Argentina, and it is stronger when there is development of convective activity. Another observed difference is the occurrence of another jet at upper levels in the case of convective system with V type configuration. |
